Not claiming to be 100% certain. But hard to imagine the issues being reported could not be noticed .
We’ll look around you son. Lots of things noticed but not being done about them
You have a good point there. But this isn’t Washington DC. … lol …
Not me. I don’t use it. Just chrome and apple depending on where I am at.
Years ago we had a hot shot IT guy that insisted on apple for one division. Wasn’t comparable with any o& the other systems in the network. Didn’t bother him at all in his bubble. Years later apple got the message that they needed to join the world. Point is some of these IT people just aren’t too interested in smooth sailing for various platforms. Seems strange though that 90% of us have problems but one doesn’t.
I guess it was mainly Mr jtsanders then…
That’s what our IT said whether it was a private company or government site. At least one of the private companies I worked for suggested strongly that we don’t use Facebook or twitter on our home equipment.
Same here. I very rarely tune in any more …mostly because of the ads. It’s just too annoying.
And just now, an ad was blocking access to the red “reply” button – first time ever for that. It took a bit of searching to figure out the problem and eliminate it.
I only signed in because of the email announcing this week’s “community summary.” I noticed this thread and wanted to see if others had the same issue, and the same annoyed reaction.
Now I’ll sign off.
The invasive ads have been a problem since April, be patient.
Pop ups on car talk - Site Feedback - Car Talk Community
Is there anyway to stop all the pop ups that appear on the site. There are so many that I can’t read the discussions.
I know the bickering, belittling and so forth has gotten out of hand on here (I am really truly trying to stay out of them now, (as well as the stupid games being played on here not being moderated), unless a safety issue), but I really don’t think that is the reason for low new members/posters, I think like most everyone else that the ads have gotten so freaking ridiculous lately that no new comer would want to be on a forum hammered by ads and pop ups…
Using or not using the forums search thingy and such is not the cure, stopping the pop ups and thread jumping is…
Take it for what you paid for it, lol
I’m personally being bickered with and being belittled simply because of the driving style I’ve adopted over the last three years - within the speed limit and to the right.
Folks with alternative or opposing viewpoints can’t get a break among the clique.
You are by far the biggest offender because people don’t adopt your driving habits. And when someone disagrees with you - you get extremely offended by it.
I don’t recall seeing much in the way of bickering and insulting other posters coming from @ChrisTheTireWhisperer . That poster is most welcome to post here in my book. No opinion on their driving style, never seen it.
No, it is because you try to cram your believes down everyone’s throat…
… ad infinitum, unfortunately…
opinion forum
That is true, but do you want to hear me say everyone should drive gas guzzling hot rods every time I make a post?? or screw the environment, straight pipe your vehicles, say no to cats??
There is a point when you need to move on to something different…
And speaking of moving on…
As long as you are stating your true opinion, and not insulting or demeaning others, doesn’t bother me. Easiily ignored if I disagree w/ your opinion. . Just part of being on an opinion forum.
Is anyone having problem with site who’s using an ad-blocker? If not…then there’s the solution. There are several out there that are 100% FREE.
Funny though, I thought this was more of a help people out in need forum, not an opinion forum…
But your right, do what you want to, helping people out on here with educated guesses and years of experience doesn’t matter anymore, it is all about opinions…
Another solution is to consider the current forum problems a sort of dark humor. Like that movie “Brazil” about a civilisation where’s there’s lot of technocratic functionality , but requires lots of work-arounds to use.
