Gas prices... currently, from all y'all?

$1.88 at Irving (top tier). Haven’t seen it this low is years.

It’s going to last a while. While it does, tens of thousands of oil field workers are being laid off, companies are shutting down all drilling in the US, and numerous bankruptcies are on the horizon. Once this excess oil and gasoline are used up, we will be in for a bumpy ride.

With the exception of about 4 people everyone in my company is working at home. I haven’t filled up in over a week and still have 3/4 tank left. Just not driving much (store and sometimes takeout). To and from work is by far my biggest gas usage. I listen to the news and Boston traffic report every morning…it’s not even close to the number of cars normally. And a lot of people who need to get to work, are driving instead of taking the train or bus. Even with those added drivers, the roads have considerable much less traffic. CA is seeing much better air quality because of it.

A morning national new show showed live video of normally busy roads in NYC and three other large cities. All were deserted at about 8am.

Interestingly I’ve also been seeing some anecdotal reporting that the few drivers who are on the streets are often driving at high speeds, and since law enforcement is diverted to other issues and/or out sick, there’s safety concerns. City Hall has also proposed closing some lanes on a few streets to permit greater social distancing. I can say that the sidewalks are pretty narrow for this purpose.

That’s the bad thing about Boston traffic. As traffic eases…speed and reckless driving increases.

To bring it back to cars and ICE, gas in Southern Minnesota last week was $1.39, then yesterday it was $1.45 and tonight it has gone up to $1.57. The fun might be ending.

My son in Green Bay filler up two weeks ago for $1.09, saw the price drop to $0.99 the next week and Back up to $1.13 this week.

I last filled up March 17 and have 3/4 tank left/ I have used more gas in the lawnmowers than the car. Last I went out was a week or so and we were at $2.19 in Western NY.

I talked to my son on the Treasure Coast and it was 92 today. To me that is a lot closer to Hades than Paradise esp. for early May.

Most gas stations around here are about $1.75 - regular. Higher octane is about $0.60 higher.

However BJ’s Warehouse (like a Sams club for those that don’t live in the North East)…their Andover location regular is $1.39, and high octane is $1.99. The BJ’s up in Manchester NH is $1.66-regular. And NH gas tax is $0.08 LESS then MA. The Andover BJ’s is a little out of the way, but worth the $0.40 gallon savings. You must be a member of BJ’s to buy gas there.

The Irving Gas (another local chain) about 1 mile down the road from the Andover BJ’s regular is selling for $1.50/gal. Irving in NH is one of the cheapest gas stations in NH and as of last year it’s now a tier 1 gas. Prices at Irving in NH are $1.75/gal.

My local Costco station is charging 1.59 for regular. I didn’t take note of the price for premium.

Post can’t be empty

$2.17 regular in Buffalo.

$1.99 regular in Dover DE, $1.79 @ Sam’s Club

$1.85/regular at my local NJ Costco.

$1.64 at Costco and Sam’s, $1.77 at Quick Trip

1.87 regular at my local Kroger.

Repeat post — I have no idea what I pay for fuel . I have to have it and am not going to worry about it.

If you mean that you don’t worry about how much you pay for fuel, then I am with you.

However, I still know how much I pay per gallon when I gas-up. The cost is not a concern, but I still make note of it

I don’t know what gas costs. It’s been weeks since I bought it.

Oh, OK, I do know what gas costs if I use Gas Buddy to check prices.

The lowest price close to me is $2.07 at a Mobil. Costco is $1.89 and Sam’s Club is $1.86.
