I bet we will. Both Italy and China have seen major drops in air pollution.
A further drastic drop in gas prices is possible:
I bet it’ll happen, I’m thinking we might see gas under a $1.00 a gallon in some low-tax areas at some point. Oil continues to plummet, it’s at about $23/barrel right now.
There must be a gas war going on in Oklahoma city - several stations under $1.25. Tulsa is $0.30 more.
I could drive this to work! Well, when they’ll let me in, of course…
Still $1.99 in Minnesota. We don’t have gas wars anymore because there is a law that requires the sale of gas to be something like 8 cents over cost. So no great fluctuations.
I’m just glad I got a hair cut yesterday. The Gov closed the barber shops now, in addition to the library and everything else. Hardware store still open I think and grocery stores but they looked like Venezuela yesterday. If I get one more Email from CEOs saying we are all in this together and they are oh so concerned with the safety of their staff, I’m going to throw something. I understand the need to try and nip this in the bud, unlike what we did for H1N1, but just in the back of my mind I’m wondering if the cure is worse than the disease. It’s like the “War of the Worlds” out there. Hair on fire.
The canals in Venice, Italy are noticeably cleaner without all the tourist traffic.
Order a Flowbee, online! I’ve had mine for years and years. I got pretty good with the darn thing! I’m kinda frugal and I’ve save a small (actually large) fortune on hair cuts (not to mention saving time wasted hanging out at the barber shop).
Relating this to gasoline, I also save gas that would be needed to haul my head up to the barber.
My father would ask, “What’s the difference between a good hair cut and a bad hair cut?”
His answer, “About a week.”

OK, you brought it up, but off topic so let the grouches flag if they want. Back in 1970 I had one of those Flowbee things and I was only a week or two away from getting out of basic training and going home. My hair was getting a little long but I didn’t want to go to the barber shop because they would skin me again so I used the Flowbee to try and get the hair off my collar to pass inspection. With a mirror-that looks bad, a little more, chop oh my gosh that looks like a terrible hack job. It looked so bad I ended up going to the barber shop anyway. He said “who the *^^( did this to you?”. I confessed and he took it easy on me. It took about three weeks before it didn’t look crazy again. I learned my lesson. I only use professionals for hair cuts.
Regular is dropping here, again!:
I just filled the Grand Prix at the new Costco in Bradenton, which by the way, had fewer people shopping than usual and it’s never hard to park or crowded inside!

Yes, but did they have paper products and bread?? I remember the good old days where the sign said “no gas” but you could buy all the paper goods you wanted.
Costco had paper products (with a limit per customer), but bread? I’ve never tried to buy bread there. Besides, I don’t eat much of it.
Paper products and bread are back on the shelves at most local grocery stores, though. It seems the panic and hoarding have died down, now. We shopped yesterday and didn’t have much trouble finding what we wanted and the stores are less crowded.
Traffic here has diminished to a low level like I’ve never seen. Schools closed, businesses closed, people working from home, no sporting events, beaches closing (except our secret beaches), etcetera.
Thankfully, we still have golf, kayaking, bicycle riding, swimming pool (They removed about 2/3 of the deck lounges and spread them out more.) and pickleball. Those haven’t closed, yet. I guess they pass the “social distancing” requirement.
Back to cars and gas prices… I love the low gas prices (even though I don’t use much it’s fun) and availability is not an issue and no crowds at gas stations. With all the bad comes some good stuff.

Went to the store yesterday first time for a week gas prices where I normaly gas up 1.85 reg. 2.35 prem. diesel 2.46 I only payed 1,70 with my loyalty card only difference in side grocery store was an employe wiping down the shopping cart’s as far as stock goe’s there was no paper towel’s or TP also the canned vegateble’s shelve’s were about 75 % empty. I passed two resturant’s that were open all other’s were drive thru’s from what I could see every thing was still open except government office’s that were closed last week.
Ordered walleye fish diners from closed restaurant last night. Sit in car and they bring it out just like car hops used to do. I asked how business was and she said very busy hard to get through on the phone. Parking lot was empty but steady stream of cars picking up their take out orders. She was living dangerously without a space suit on, but so was I I guess.
Wow, we are down to $1.64 now in our little town by the lake in Southern Minnesota. I topped off last night and have no idea what I paid, though. Too bad no place to go.
$1.46 at Sam’s and Costco, $1.69 at the nearby Quick Trip.
Lake Woebegone?
Oh, that place! That must be it!
It’s a place where all women are strong, all men are good looking and all children are above average .

I saw $1.36 today and it looked legitimate but 1 block away Kroger with a discount card was $1.69.
