Not one of my favorites, but I did see it live at the Earl Warren Show grounds in Isla Vista, CA and again a few weeks later in a smoky club in Venture, CA.
another popular song by Chuck Berry
My passion has always been motorcycles and this is my favorite motorcycle song.
“In My Merry Oldsmobile”
Born to be Wild
As long as we are digressing to motor cikle songs, Arlo (yes son of Woodie) Guthry https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BvLtNBm1yyA
Rod Knox Yeah! Ike Turner Rocket 88! Commander Cody Hot Rod Lincoln! and Steve Miller Mercury Blues (The original Mercury Boogie was recorded in 1948 by K. C. Douglas but I haven’t heard it). There are probably others.
Not to say this one is hot, but it is smokin my CPU, gotta let it cool down for awhile.
I have 4 favorites that I keep on a CD when I’m out cruising by myself. They are:
Dirty Laundry by Don Henley
Bad To The Bone by George Thorogood
Enter The Sandman by Metallica
Simply Irresistible by Robert Palmer
I guess I just love a “driving” beat when I’m driving.
@Docnick, favorite, man, favorites.
I knew there were many others. When my now 12 year old Granddaughter was 5 her favorite song was Jan and Dean Little Old Lady from Pasadena. Speaking of… Jan and Dean Dead Man’s Curve. The Beach Boys Shut Down, Little Deuce Coupe, Fun, Fun, Fun. Bruce Springsteen Racing in the Streets.
hardt How could I have forgotten “409” When I had my 1963 Ford Galaxie 406 tri power I changed the lyrics to “She’s a lot of kicks my 406”!
Rod Knox Yeah! Chuck Berry Maybeline! Paul Revere and the Raiders SS 396. The Rip Chords Hey Little Cobra. They go on and on!
Dead Man’s Curve! I haven’t heard that since it was on a.m. radio.
All the usual demands that go with struggling to pay bills, etc., kept me from paying any attention to music from 1969 until a couple of years ago. I have heard of Bruce Springstein but never paid any attention to his music. I’ll take a look at him and several other singers and groups you guys have linked. Who started this anyway? I have important things to take care of. My dinner is getting cold.
And Autobahn reminds me of this
Some of you “seasoned” members recall that tune and the t.v. show
can’t forget Pink Cadillac by the boss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29_RZ82aZ6A
Jaguar And Thunderbird by Chuck Berry
Broke Down South Of Dallas by JR Brown
Long Line Of Cars & Going The Distance both by Cake
Dear Dad by Chuck Berry
Elvis recorded a Pink Cadillac song.
I believe that one of the pink Cadillacs that he bought for his mother is still at his Memphis home.
