Have 2002 VW Eurovan that the brake light does not turn off (even though it’s in the off position) and makes beeping sound when car is driving, at stop lights the beeping stops then resumes once the car is in motion again
There is a switch on the brake lever mechanism. That’s where the problem is. You will have to remove covers etc. to reach it. You can recognize it bythe wire leading to it.
2002 model VW’s had a recall on that brake light switch. You want a green one. Check to see if your car is covered under the recall and if not just have it replaced, it should not cost much. It only takes a few minutes and the part is cheap.
