I have a 02 vw beetle. 70,000 miles. a clunk like metal on metal has developed in the front drivers side. Heard on uneven gravel roads at speed of 20 mph. not transmitted to steering wheel.
# 1 get your tyre wrench out and make sure both front wheels are properly tightened. (note more is not always better) If that does not get it, have the suspension system checked. It could be dangerous.
