Vegan Cars, Cow Farts, And PETA... What?

No real comment here…I just wanted to be #100. I got the idea while sitting in my vehicle waiting on my wife.

And not one comment on cow farts…

@the_same_mountainbike this one is for you!

About 30 percent of the methane in the atmosphere results from microbial action in animals’ digestive tracts. This prompted Ronald Reagan’s dismissive comment that humans couldn’t be held accountable for global-warming gases (of which methane is the most potent), because the most significant source is bovine flatulence.”

Coming from the land of derriere driving though Americas dairyland does have it’s drawbacks, but I like cream in my coffee, steak on my plate, and leather shoes. As a kid in the 70’s I never thought civilization would survive this long.

I wear a 14AA shoe. Size 14 isn’t difficult to find, but the AA width in a 14 is hard to find. Most shoes come as narrow, medium and wide with narrow being the B width. I’ll buy any 14AA shoe whether it is leather, corfam or canvas. When I was a teenager, I would have killed to get a pair of 14AA blue suede shoes. Now, I am happy with anything that fits my feet.

@Triedaq - you have my sympathy as I also have very large feet. At least we don’t have to worry about falling over frontwards.

If you need an athletic shoe…try New Balance. They make all different widths.

@Triedaq I sympathize with you. I have very narrow feet, size 9, and in dress shoes, only Clarke’s these days sells shoes that fit me. A sale at Sears has nothing for me.

In sports wear, my best fit for shoes and boots for hiking and skiing are women’s size 11 in a narrow width, believe it or not. These all have unisex styling, so they all look alike.

For walking shoes, SAS of San Antonio Tex, makes a good range of comfortable shoes.

@MikeInNH–I am wearing New Balance shoes right now. I do fitness walking of 3 miles a day, 5 or 6 days a week. I buy a new pair of athletic shoes once a year and the previous pair becomes my every day shoes. The next pair down the line then becomes my outdoor lawn and garden shoes. I do have two pairs of 14AA dress shoes that I only wear when the need arises as they were rather expensive.
I could save money on athletic shoes if my doctor would prescribe Geritol for me to stave off the onset of Geezeritis, but he prescribed the fitness walking instead. He did prescribe a Mazda Miata for me for my mental health, but he checked the box that it could be filled generically, and Mrs. Triedaq decided that meant any vehicle and I wound up with a Sienna.

Hm, try Mason Shoes out of Wisconsin. I think they are still in business. Not bad shoes and you’ll get a discount if you sign up as a salesman. I don’t think I should pay the same price though for my shoes as a size 14. Can I contact the FTC or someone to complain?

Note: Yep still alive. Just google mason shoes for on-line or catalog. Name brands now with sizes up to 17 EEEE for a hundred bucks or so.

Interesting that we get 1000 views on a non-automotive (sort of) subject. Shows there is a market for bovine discussions

Hitch the car-cass to the oxen,I’m sure it has been done.Natural Gas,runs pretty good through a car engine, the mixture of gases coming from land fills are sometimes, combusted in huge Waukashau engines,to generate electricity.

Or if you live near me. I live less then 10 miles away from the New Balance factory outlet. They have GREAT prices…and great sales. I’ve bought $150 MSRP running shoes there for under $20.

Sooooo if 30% of the planet’s methane comes from cow farts, and methane is bad, than does it follow that we should kill al the cows and use their hides for car seats?

Interesting that it’s not only humans that must be eliminated to save the planet, but cows too. Maybe there are other species that need to be eliminated too. Of course who or what would be left then to enjoy the planet?

You can’t eliminate one species or another in order to save the planet. As soon as you do…a giant asteroid will put itself on a collision course with earth and BAMM! All life and motor vehicles will be destroyed in short order.

Beats the heck out of topless selfie causes earthquake! June 12 2015

“(CNN)Police in Malaysia have arrested four foreigners believed to have been part of a group of tourists who stripped naked at the summit of Mount Kinabalu, according to Bernama, Malaysia’s official news agency.”

No doubt some cars were injured along with the 16 dead.

That’s NOTHING compared to the IDIOT assemblywoman from Cal who said the Abortion is the cause of the current drought in Cal.

Well, hearing religious fundamentalists spout scientifically and historically unsupportable nonsense is nothing new. After all, TV evangelists Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson blamed the 9/11 terrorist attacks on feminists and gay people. Yes, they really did!

In order to keep this on an automotive note, I wonder what type of vehicle Jerry Falwell drove.
Do you think that it was a Jeep Liberty?

After all, TV evangelists Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson blamed the 9/11 terrorist attacks on feminists and gay people.

True…but they aren’t elected politicians…BIG DIFFERENCE.

^
Point taken, but–I wonder how much longer that woman can remain as an elected official.
Maybe when she is defeated in the next election, she can become a TV evangelist, and bring the entire thing full circle!

Again, trying to keep this on an automotive theme…Do you think that polarizing politicians should drive Dodge Polaras?
