@VDCdriver Another car besides the Dodge Polara for politicians would be the Saturn Ion. There are positively charged ions and negatively charged ions., so we do have a,polarization issue.
Point taken, but--I wonder how much longer that woman can remain as an elected official.
Idiots like that show up all over the country…even here in NH. Most however hide their beliefs to get elected…then they have a hidden agenda to push through their beliefs. But once found out…most don’t get re-elected.
Here in Indiana we have a governor who, along with his cronies in the state legislature forced into law the “Religious Freedom Reformation Act” which would allow certain businesses to withhold services from gays and lesbions. That brought a big protest from the business community and the law was amended to lessen its impact. However the mayor of Indianapolis came out against the law and he is in the same party as the governor. I am so disgusted with Indiana politics that I am conaidering moving to New Hampshire. Even. If the political scene is no better, at least I can be close to the New Balance factory outlet store and get a good price on shoes as MikeInNH does.
"at least I can be close to the New Balance factory outlet store "
…and it should be noted that many (but not all) of New Balance’s shoes are Made in The USA!
Just to ensure that we remain automotive, I can testify that I enjoy driving my Outback while wearing New Balance shoes…
@VDCDriver Ditto! My SAS walking shoes are flexible and are excellent DRIVING shoes as well. And made in San Antonio, Tx.

One thing I like about NH politics is as individuals have a lot more power then places like NY. I think the representative ratio is 100:1…most states are 10 to 100 times more then that.
My MIL and BIL believe that everything in the Bible is literally true; no embellishment at all. They are not the only ones that think this way. Why is it hard to believe that someone that thinks as they do could get elected to office? Especially in rural Cali. I well imagine that many state districts have fundamentalist Christians running for office. I believe that during the last Presidential cycle there was at least one Republican candidate that espoused views consistent with what Shannon Grove said.

Please refresh my memory about that candidate.
Who was it, and how did he/she do at the polls?
A smart politician with dumb beliefs keeps those beliefs to himself.
Paul Kruger, the very popular prime minister of South Africa at the time of WW I, believed the sun moved around the earth but was forgiven these beliefs due to his ability to advance the Afrikaner cause. His real liability was his pro-German sympathies.
Ronald Reagan believed that acid rain was caused by trees.
“Ronald Reagan believed that acid rain was caused by trees.”
He also believed that trees were the major cause of air pollution, as opposed to IC engines.
The head of an environmental group made the following offer to Ronnie:
I will lock myself in an air-tight room with a tree if you agree to lock yourself in an air-tight room with a car whose engine is running.
Ronnie apparently decided to forego that very generous offer, perhaps after speaking with an advisor who had actually taken a few science courses.
This is really dangerous territory. Well which Bible, the Catholic or the Protestant one? They are different. And if you ever visited that cave that John wrote Revelations from, you’d understand why it is so wacky. And we’re not even sure which John it was that wrote it. And there was lots of stuff not included at the time and stuff that has been discovered since then. You can’t possibly believe everything since there are contradictions and requires educated interpretations to make sense of the whole body of information available to us. Its really sad though when people concentrate on what is literal and what is illustrative and miss the whole point of the document.
Hello, could you bring this more into automotive territory, please? Thank you!
Trying, extremely trying at times I am sure. Fallwell might drive a Christler?

But they both are very different from the original Bible that was written in Greek. The modern Bible has been translated to the many different languages…and many parts have lost it’s original meaning.
And for those that take the bible literal…they seem to ignore or don’t believe the HUNDREDS of well documented contradictions.
Well, for VOCs, old Ronnie was right:

Pull quote:
In fact, the planet's vegetation accounts for about two-thirds of the pollutants known as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted globally.
Bing: I think you may be the only person I know besides my ex wife who has first hand knowledge of the Greek island of Patmos. We visited it in September 1998. The cave is very underwhelming. It was nearly 100 degrees F and was not worth the hike. I agree that this John was unlikely the apostle John. The small nearly desert island would drive me insane. I have often wondered if over 2,000 years ago one of the native cacti was related to peyote. Revelations is wacko. I had formal religion with the threat of eternal torture in hell vs “the wages of sin is death” as an incitement to obey whatever the religion demanded rammed down my throat from birth until 14 y/o when I chose to do my own research, reach my own conclusions, treat others in a Christian manner, and make my own peace with God. I think it has worked well so far.
