Squirrels eating fuel line

I have a 1982 Ford F150 that I use only occassionaly, maybe one or two weekends a month. Apparantly squirrels have taken a liking to perching on the top of my fuel tank and chewing holes in the rubber fuel line that runs from the tank to the steel line running along the frame. I have thought about using stainless steel braided fuel line to replace this section. Does this sound like a good idea? Can I use regular hose clamps, or do I have to use the AN fittings? Is there another solution?

This might be a little cheaper? http://community.cartalk.com/posts/list/2123673.page
