Critter chewing fuel lines

What can I do to forstall something chewing thru fuel lines? I have had two vehicles put out of service in the past two weeks. I have deer, squrrels, rabbits, ground hogs, & chipmonks on my property. Has anyone found an effective for deterrent for a fuel line chewer which has cost me $1400 so far?

How about an outside cat?

The deer are not the problem, nor are the ground hogs.

Consumer Reports recommends peppermint oil and/or used kitty litter to deter rodents.

If you’re desperate, you might spray the fuel line with a deer repellent called Tree Guard, which is extremely bitter-tasting. I’m not sure how safe the product would be for the fuel line, but it’s latex-based, so perhaps it wouldn’t hurt.
