Shifting solenoid

location of solenoid on 01 olds alero? how do we change it? doesn’t want to shift unless you ease up on the gas.

I believe the shift solenoids are under the case on the side of the engine. The transmission needs to be partially pulled to get the case open to get access. Not a DIY job. What makes you think its the solenoids though and not a pump problem or something?

I can’t see how easing up on the accelerator would help a defective solenoid to function but it could affect the signal the solenoid is receiving. I would sooner suspect something like a bad TPS. One of the functions of the TPS is to control shift points. Is the engine running normally? Is the check engine light lit?
