I have a 2014 Equinox, that was bought new. I have been dealing with an issue for the last 3 years which I still do not have resolution for. Every few months, the check engine light comes on. The code reads cam actuator, changing between intake and exhaust. Both parts have been replaced too many times to count. In December 2018, I took it to the shop and they said the timing chain was bad and that was replaced. A few nights ago, the check engine light came back on. Code read actuator again. I have spoken with numerous mechanics and none of them have a solution.
Sell or trade the car. Life is too short to deal with this. You may be able to have GM buy it back but that depends on the lemon laws in your state or country.
