I knocked one of the rear defroster terminals loose from the rear window.
Did a little research and seem to have two options.
1. Resolder the terminal to the window grid. It was a clean break and the grid appears undamaged. I have a 45 watt soldering iron, not sure it’s strong enough for the job.
2. Reattach the terminal with conductive epoxy. I prefer this option, but I’m not sure where I can find conductive epoxy.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ed B.
A local auto parts store should sell a kit for this type of repair. http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-to/maintenance/4221212

That should do the trick. It looks like Permatex and Loctite make defroster repair kits. I’ll post back with the results.

Tester,
I used the Permatex Defroster Repair kit to reattach the tab.
I’m giving it 24 hrs to dry before I reconnect the wiring, but I checked and confirmed continuity between the tab and the grid.

Well come on Ed! Did it work? We’re all waiting with baited breath!
