Hi. I have been having a terrible time with scrolling through the site on iOS 18.3.2. I shared it with our tech team but they can’t replicate the issue. It is so disruptive I want to make sure it’s not happening to others.
When using the site — no matter the platform, I guess — are any of you seeing batches of 3-4 posts just repeating themselves as you scroll down? Are you having any difficulty with the banner ads that appear as you’re scrolling and instruct you to keep scrolling?
Thanks, appreciate the input…in case my phone is possessed and it’s just my issue.
I’m on a Dell PC, Windows 11, browsing with Firefox and an ad blocker. My phone is an android, but I don’t do any of this kind of thing by phone. PC only for web activity.
The scrolling has been totally normal for me. No repeating posts or anything like that.
Occasionally, seems like that happens on lengthy topics, like the 300 post tire thread. Happens either on android or laptop using Chrome on Windows 10.
You may see that after you reply or edit a thread.
When I add a reply or another member makes a reply to a thread that I am viewing, it corrupts the last few replies. Replies are repeated or appear to be from the wrong member. It is necessary to refresh the screen in order to get the replies in order.
I’m on an iPad with safari and my posts usually duplicate but the second one diappesrsvatvdomenpoint. Therebiscavlotnof jumping around though too. At least the Spanish suverado commercials are gone but I did see a chinese one that I have no idea what that was for.
Yes, I am having the very same problems as the moderator. All of a sudden it scrolls back 4 -5 posts and it is not obvious at times but then you realize you have already read these posts. Firefox, windows 11.
No problems on my LG Gram laptop, running DDG. I do have some problems when I view the forum on my Android phone, but that’s probably because I haven’t gotten around to installing DDG on my phone.
IPadOS 18.4.1 and DuckDuckGo. I occasionally have a jump when scrolling. It only happens when I’m scanning way back on long threads, and not every time.
I’m not seeing the exact problem that you describe, but I am still frequently seeing a similar problem that’s been mentioned many times in recent months, so I’ll bring it up again. In Chrome (with no relevant extensions) on Windows 11, if I open a topic that has a lot of posts, as I’m scrolling down through the posts, it will suddenly jump back to an earlier post, forcing me to scroll down through the same posts again. This usually happens multiple times before I can make it to the last post.
Now that I mention that, that reminds me that I’m also seeing a second problem. If I scroll to the last post and go back to the list of topics, there’s often a number bubble on that topic claiming that there are some unread posts. If I click on the topic again, it doesn’t bring me to the last post that I actually saw but instead to an earlier one. In other words, it’s not correctly remembering the last post that I actually saw. I usually have to go back into the topic and scroll to the bottom multiple times before it remembers the correct last post.
Both of these issues are really annoying. I assumed that no one cared enough to fix them, but your post gives me some hope here!
