Ignition sticks

Sometimes my ignition sticks. That is, when I put the key in, it will not turn. Oftentimes, if I turn the wheel until it locks (which when this happens I can turn the wheel fully several turns which shouldn’t happen), then the key works. Luckily this is an unimportant part of the car the way Click and Clack’s sister drives, but I think it might be dangerous. It doesn’t happen all the time. I’ve found that if I don’t put the wheel ‘up’ when I exit, it doesn’t happen. Any ideas? Especially as to cost as this bad boy has 195,000 miles on it.

At 195,000 miles you need a new ignition switch. Next on the list will be no start. Playing with lubricants and other fixes will not solve the wear from turning the key that many times.
