IAC valve/ALDL question on 93 buick skylark (2.3L eng)

need to change the IAC valve due to high resistance readings. Chilton manual says to run engine above 2000 rpm and to ground the ALDL test terminal for 10 seconds. What pin are they talking about grounding? Also is the Haynes manual better than Chiltons at explaining things?

thanks

Locate the ALDL connector under the dash, close to the steering column. Look for the A and B terminals. These are the two terminals to ground together.

As far as manuals go, Haynes and Chiltons are ok for the DIY’er who wants to do just basic repairs. But don’t depend on them to be a bundle of information. I never believe a wiring diagram that comes from these manuals. Most times they’re incorrect.
