I hope that ok4450 is okay

No, it was definitely TSM. There was a fight had with someone else as JoeMario described. I was surprised he stuck to it when he said he was going to leave because as I recall it was a car repair topic, and not one that was political or predictably controversial.

CSA is prone to long absences and then he pops up again. There was a time out given for starting arguments but there were 2-3 other times he’s left and come back. If luck has been on his side he’s probably still doing beach yoga and enjoying his American cars. :palm_tree: :sunglasses: :palm_tree: , as he used to sign off.

I think that the most unfortunate thing about losing a very valuable contributor such as TSM is that the person with whom he had a disagreement is probably long-gone from the forum. Those who are repeatedly argumentative, combative, or overtly political usually have a fairly short shelf-life before they implode or are removed.

RIP OK4450. He was an intelligent, inquisitive person that routinely tore down components to see why they failed. OK4450 had many innovative methods to diagnose problems, derived from his decades in auto repair. I’ll miss his problem analyses.

He was also a certified aviation mechanic, so his expertise was broader than that of most people.

Sad news. I’ve learned a lot from his posts.

I, too, miss ok4450. He not only had well thought out responses to automotive problems, but he wrote his posts so well.

ok4450 and I had some disagreements over the years, but I surely respected his automotive knowledge and his willingness to share. Very few people in this forum were his equal - I surely wasn’t one of them.

Godspeed OK4450 … OK knew what’s important for keeping cars well diagnosed, maintained and repaired, and some particularly excellent Volvo and VW expertise; OK will definitely be missed.

Subaru, too.

… and Saab!

I can’t add a thing to @MikeInNH 's heartfelt post.

Yeah, Subaru and Saab too, forgot about those. In fact OK told me how I could have repaired my parent’s 80’s Subaru carburetor problem. Carbs were very complex in that era, especially Subaru apparently, but OK knew all about the issues and how to address each of them. Unfortunately I learned OK’s advice too late, parent’s car long gone.

We should resurrect some of his favorite stories for a memorial page, like when the wheel came off his bike on the highway. He seemed to take these situations in stride. Would be fun to have a few recordings of his conversations with crooked dealers too. A guy you would never need a written contract with.

Very sad news. OK4450 was one of the first forum members to respond to my automotive questions many years ago. I have greatly respected his forum input, his wit, and his stories. He will be very much missed here. May his soul abide in peace.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing.
I have been following this forum (although rarely posting) for many years. His knowledge has been invaluable and he seemed to be a really nice guy.

Sad news about OK4450, he gave sound advice. He will be missed. I wish I knew what happened to Cigroller and Trans man several years ago. Their comments were well respected . They both dropped off and I never heard why

Transman had/has a shoo down in Georgia. He said he was just leaving the board is all. Posted pictures of his young family so don’t think he was old. Knew everything about transmissions.

Did he play the Fiddle?
