Is anyone familiar with a combo defroster/antenna module mounted under rear deck in trunk that goes bad and needs replacing? It gives off a burning smell when rear defroster is turned on. Is this something i can replace myself?
Sounds like a short. Perhaps two wires rubbing together.
Thanks, nothing leading into the module is burnt or looks like short. This happened on a 98 ultra i had and was told the entire module needed replacing. Was hopeing to find someone who works on Buicks or G M cars that would be familiar with this part.
I would think that you could get a new (or junk yard) module and replace it yourself. I would disconnect the existing one until you do. A car fire is no fun.
