Hello, Has anyone heard of a antenna/defroster module going bad causing the rear defroster from working? A service Mgr. @ local Buick dealer claims it`s a common problem. I noticed a wire burning like smell very noticeable in the trunk area when defroster stopped working. Anyone have similar problem? Thanks…
Somewhere there is a wire connected to the heating grid painted on the glass…Check for voltage at that connector…If there is voltage, then there is a break in the heating grid on the glass. The “module” is probably just a relay. Have you checked the fuse? Do you get some indication (a light) that the defroster is on?
I wouldn’t be surprised if what the manager said is true. Look for signs of heat damage to the wiring.
