Has anyone ever come across a 2002 ford escape v6 4x4 were the daytime running lights flicker. ?
Did you install LED bulbs? If so… that is the issue. Replace them with the original type bulb.
If not, I’d be tapping each lens and bulb to see if the filament is broken and making intermittent contact. Then I’d check ground connections for the headlights on this 22 year old SUV.
There may be a problem with the DRL module.

@Mustangman No, no LED’s and all bulbs are ok.
@Tester I was thinking it was that. It would be nice if there was just a way to turn them off but still have use of headlights, lol.
Thanks for the quick reply guys.
You are in Canada so I don’t think you can turn the Daytime running feature off legally.
You might get by just turning the headlights on all the time.
@VOLVO-V70 You might be right about that. I’m not sure really. Yeah I could run with them on all the time. There not near as bright as any of the other headlights on out there today. Some of those are brighter than the sun, lol.
I’ve seen that on other cars from time to time, but no idea the year/make/model. When I’ve seen it, I wonder if they are broken, of it that’s just the way they are designed to work. I’ve only seen this flickering during daylight hours.
Does it change if you put on the headlights? Flickering lights can also means failed/failing diodes in the alternator.
The pulse-width-modulation for some DRLs are slow enough (50 HZ) that some people notice the light flicker.
@cigroller Only happens with the daytime running lights.
@Nevada_545 It’s not a light flicker really. I"ve had people pull up to me and tell me they can see it flickering and all that.
Then, like @Tester said, I’d think first about the DRL module.
