How do you change brake pads on a 2004 Monte Carlo LS. I bought some Bendix TitaniuMetallic II bads and was going to have a guy change them for me, but he got hurt. I would like to learn how to do them myself anyway. Please help.
Your best bet is to get a Haynes or Chilton’s manual to give you step-by-step instructions for your specific car. Even tho the process is similar for most cars, there are differences in each make and model. Also, having someone with a bit of experience is always good to have around the first time.
I would concure with bustedknucles. You also want to make sure you have all the tools you may need on hand.
Some calipers use Torx fasteners vs hex sockets fasteners vs hex bolts.
You may also want to turn or change the rotors depending on their thickness and condition.
Get the manual and start there.
Just some things to think about before you start the job.
