2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE
the turn signals work at times, and at times do not. Not just left or right, but both.
Seems to happen most often when it’s especially humid or rainy which makes me think ‘short’ or exposed wire, though neither me nor the dealership was able to find anything.
When it happens, I put on the hazards for 5-10 seconds, then turn on the blinker with the hazards still on, turn the hazards off, and the blinker stays on. This usually works within 2 to 3 tries.
I’ve replaced bulbs and fuses, inspected the wiring, even took it to the dealership…no luck
Have you tried replacing the flasher unit?
Some vehicles have flasher units that operate both the turn signals and the hazard lights. Others have two flasher units. One for the turn signals and one for the hazards.

I suspect the multi-function switch (in the steering column) is faulty.
