Advice on an air mix actuator part

Hi,

I have been trying to find this heater door that will allow my Nissan Maxima’s AC to blow cold air. I have had issues with some ebay dealers. I did notice the seller is highly rated, although interesting they are advertising the part as “new” considering it is for a 24 year old car. It looks very similar to the part my mechanic gave me to match but I want to ensure it’s the right one. The dealer is offering to check if it will work if you provide them the VIN number. Is it safe to provide my VIN number for them to check if it’s compatible?

Yes it is safe to provide a VIN online. Yes it may be a new part. There are people who buy up closed dealers parts inventory and resell them.
