A whistling CR-V is an uphill battle

My 2008 Honda CR-V emits a high-pitched whistle (dog whistle-esque) when going up hills in central PA. I suspect an air intake noise, but am concerned that other than moving to the Dakota prairies is there a remedy?

Where’s it coming from? Can you get it to make the noise on flat roads if you hold the accelerator down more than usual? Some hondas use an injector resistor box that “tweets” at certain throttle positions. I remember one guy spent months and hundreds of dollars on ever larger air intakes trying to eliminate the tweet before someone told him about that.

I’m not saying this is your problem, but it’s possible.

You should discuss this problem with your mechanic or Honda dealer.

The vehicle should not make unusual noises just because it’s going uphill.
