The liftgate on my 2011 Toyota Highlander will not close without an additional firm push. Seems like it has slipped out of alignment. I brought it to dealership service advisers’ attention at least 2x previously. Just learned that Toyota had a warranty extension on the problem, but that expired 3/24/19, and now they won’t fix it.
If the warranty is expired, it’s on your dime. Take it into an independent mechanic.
Did you actually have them look at it and give you an estimate of the repair cost ? If you did before 3/24/19 contact the corporate number in your manual and they might help.
Other wise it is off to a body shop you will go.
