On 2009 Hyundai Sonata you have to relearn the new TPMS sensors. The relearn process is through OBD port using OBD TPMS Tool, they had to do it in the shop.

No worries, I’m not here to spam. I’m from Europe and deal with TPMS sensors quite a lot, including US cars with 315 MHz systems. Just thought I could share some experience on common issues and relearn steps.

Since you’re from Europe . . . will an illuminated TPMS light generally cause a car to fail the required safety inspection?

Yes, here in Europe (atleast in my country) an illuminated TPMS light can cause the car to fail the periodic regular safety inspection. It has been required since 2018, and the same applies to other safety systems like ABS or ESP – if they are not working properly, the car will not pass.
