2009 corolla rear view mirror (located inside the car - not the side mirror) is wobbly when driving. Realized that one side of the base is broke -plastic. Got one from a Prius which matches the OEM part #.
Seven months later, I am being told that its wobbly - I inspected it - I can see some looseness at the base where it touches the windshield. I took it and put it back - I hear the click when it went in. There is no screw. There is a tensioned metal (spring) at the base of the mirror - this might be the root cause of the problem. Perhaps a body shop knows how to replace it (I took it out on the old one and unsure how to put it back).

Does this mean use the felt pad in the center of the base and try push it in - it may not go in depending on the felt pad?
Another is cloth wire harness tape around the edges - I’ve seen cloth tape- it may interfere with aesthetics!
