2009 corolla rearview mirror base is loose?

2009 corolla rear view mirror (located inside the car - not the side mirror) is wobbly when driving. Realized that one side of the base is broke -plastic. Got one from a Prius which matches the OEM part #.

Seven months later, I am being told that its wobbly - I inspected it - I can see some looseness at the base where it touches the windshield. I took it and put it back - I hear the click when it went in. There is no screw. There is a tensioned metal (spring) at the base of the mirror - this might be the root cause of the problem. Perhaps a body shop knows how to replace it (I took it out on the old one and unsure how to put it back).

Watched a lot of videos too. - closest I found was this:

Does this mean use the felt pad in the center of the base and try push it in - it may not go in depending on the felt pad?

Another is cloth wire harness tape around the edges - I’ve seen cloth tape- it may interfere with aesthetics!

Then go to a body shop and have it fixed properly.
