Mirror

the day/night toggle on my rear view mirror quit working in my 2005 Corolla LE. Any way to fix it?

You can either replace the mirror or adjust it manually by manipulating the mirror by the same amount as the lever. A new rear view mirror won’t cost very much.

So you are saying it can’t fixed? Toyota wants $127.00 for a new mirror.

Sounds like ideal junk yard (sorry, ‘car recycler’) item, or check out ebay.

No, it cannot be fixed.
You have to install a new mirror, or one from a junkyard.

Thanks. I won’t waste time trying to fix it.

You could try leaving it on the night setting and then you don’t have to replace the mirror.

Is this mirror so unique that you have to buy it from the dealer? Check out some local auto parts stores to see if they have one that will fit. If they don’t, then it is time to go to a junk yard.

Does the mirror have the standard sized shoe on the windshield? It looks like this: http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_BRACKET-REAR-VIEW-MIRROR-Motormite_5707684-P_N3160_A|GRP2045____

If so, then a generic mirror from an auto parts store will be much cheaper than a OEM mirror.
