About 3 years after buying my Tacoma I went to dealership for an oil change. The super comes out and informs me that both leaf springs are broken and need to be replaced. $ 1400. A few months later the news item on my local station informed me that Toyota had a recall initiation for broken springs So I got an incident number. It took one year and a call to my congressman for my 1400 to be returned. Spring broke again and I got three leaf springs from a truck suspension shop for half the price. Bouncier ride but I’m happy. So cheap steel from Toyota twice? Or something else?
Just poor design.
