ive recently noticed a squeaking noise coming from our tires that is not connected to braking. it is faint, i can only hear it when im driving down a quiet road with cars parked along the sides to echo the noise back at me. we rotated our tires and changed our front disc brakes about 6 months ago. any ideas what this could be?
Does it go away when you apply the brakes?
Why do you assume that it is the tires?
It is just as likely–in fact it is more likely–that the noise is from dry bushings or from worn front end components, or possibly the brakes.
As texases noted, if the noise goes away when you use the brakes, then it is likely that the noise is the wear indicators in the brake pads trying to tell you to replace them.
Also check tire pressure.
