Telo EV trucks will supposedly reach the marketplace in 2026. I wish them luck because of the battery range, charging speed, payload capacity, and–IMO–the nice design.
Imagine a crew-cab pickup with a load bed the same size as that of a Tacoma (and larger than both the Rivian pickup and the Tesler Cybertruck), but the same overall length as a Mini, and at a starting price of ~$41k.
If they can actually make it to market, and if they are able to sell enough units to sustain themselves through the first couple of years, I think that this venture has some promise to it.
all marketing organizations make that claim. Here’s another article from Motor Trend. They like the idea and did a test drive of a prototype. They didn’t like that, but also said that prototypes typically don’t represent the final product in that respect. I’m not a fan of that cab-over look. That’s one of the ugliest front ends I’ve seen in a while, but as a work vehicle, that might not mean much.
So a VW ID.Buzz with the back chopped to form a truck bed. Then a mid-gate idea from GM’s Avalanche (big plus there!) and a very low price.
Not as ugly as a Tesla Cyber-Trash, not as expensive as the ID.Buzz. Low rent interior from the pictures. It IS unique but I am not sure there is a spot for it in the marketplace.
True. But ugly nonetheless (or maybe just funny-looking?) Other than that, it seems quite practical for a certain category of drivers. Enough to get a foothold in the market? As you say, time will tell!
Other than that my only other thought was basically that I’d never want to get into a front end collision in one. It looks like your feet must be sitting somewhere nearly on the front bumper.
