I suspect I need a new wiper motor module, due to the park switch not seeming to work, and sometimes the delays randomly making multiple swipes, instead of one, or just continuing to swipe without delay. Is this module actually part of the motor assembly, or is it a separate unit. If the latter, where is it located?
We don’t know what this vehicle is . . . But it’s probably part of the wiper motor
My apologies, I thought as many times it has me specify it in the drop downs, it would be indicated. Its a 2010 Mercury Milan.
Just Googled it. Behind the driver inst panel. Black box with white connectors. More and better description on the page.
Let me know if you find a fix. My 2011 MKZ has done the same thing, off and on, for years.
Yeah you have to buy the whole unit or get one at a junk yard for parts. Back about 1969 the wipers wouldn’t shut off in my 59 pontiac. The dealer sold me a cheap relay to fix it after taking the motor apart. Gone are those days though.
Edit: never mind, see be,low.
Locate the smart junction box, (fuse box), under the drivers side dash.
Slide the smart junction box upward and swing it out of the way.
Behind it you will find the wiper/washer control module.

Sorry @texases I tried to edit mine but it edited yours and won’t let me change it.
At any rate I meant forget what I said and see. Testers above.
Haha, that figures. I don’t know why I couldn’t get useful results when I was searching last night. But thanks that helps.
Thank you, that is very helpful.
This is how mine started out about 6 or 7 years ago. It would go months not have a problem, then suddenly make 2 or 3 swipes instead of one, then return to normal delay operation. Then suddenly yesterday it became very chronic, and I started having issues getting them to park, if I turned them off mid-swipe.
The smart junction box is difficult to remove, and the fuses are very difficult to access, so much so that removing the smart junction box may be easier to check fuses. Putting a foam mat down for your back may help as you have to look up and reach up from below the dash. It releases and then slides up I believe. If you pull it out before it is all the up it will break the plastic. Once it is out you can disconnect the wires if needed. There is an access cover on the left side that allows some access to the area from the side.
