I have a 1983 Buick riviera convertible. Driver door window requires new regulator per my mechanic. He is asking me to provide the part. The one I have showed him is not the right one. Does anyone have a link to one I can purchase?
Thanks.
Go to Rockauto.com. Look up your exact car. It’s kinda old but they may have it.
Nobody sells the regulator, just motors. This used parts online store says they will help you locate it.
Also, heresy someone that feels your pain. He is also a 1983 Riviera convertible owner and might have a line in parts for you.
Yeah they should have used the parts for multiple years but I’d just go with the motor and all if it is a choice.
As a last resort, hemmings offers a parts locating service for hard to find items. Every month there are four or five parts located for people with part numbers and who to call.
I agree and that’s what I did with my 1998 Regal, but it isn’t a choice here. Only motors are available.
Yeah I have looked hard for the part, might have to find a specialty shop or someone that rebuild them, or go custom one…
As a car ages, your choices get leaner and leaner and require more and more skill to keep things working. Unless, of course, it is a very desirable make/model and they keep making aftermarket parts. But a fairly common driver- by 40 years old, you have to be good at scrounging from junkyards or swap meets or you have to handy enough to fabricate some stuff on your own…
I found a number of them listed on car-part.com, used of course.
Thanks. I will give that a try
