Have an 05 Camry that makes some noises while rolling up the window. It’s rubbing against the weatherstripping that I’m assuming must be dried out. Thought about putting some lithium grease on it but I believe that will just make a mess. Is there some technique/procedure that’s followed for this situation? Old wrench’s secret formula? Got to be some way to soften the rubber to quiet this thing down.
The only product that I would use on rubber weather-stripping is silicone.
Replacing the rubber seals in inexpensive and relatively easy. My son did this on his 05 Corolla and it made a HUGE difference in ride quietness.
