Why you shouldn't park next to a fire hydrant

The clearence wouldn’t matter , the hose would simply exand in its equivilant oval.
The kink would be the SAME …just down instead of up.
It would be quicker to pass it under the car than to break out windows.
One could quickly feel and know if the car were hot.

point made.

It is very easy to break the windows and clean up the shards of glass, the side windows break into small pieces, it takes seconds. Running the hose through is easy enough as you can see it from both sides. We can grab the floor mats to put under the hose if there is still glass stuck in the door. You are not sure what sharp pokey things are under the car that will puncture the hose when it expands. You do not want to risk losing your water supply.

There’s a lot of sharp edges underneath the car that could easily slice a hose once it pressured up.
Especially those crimps along the edges where the body is mated to the floor pan.

No doubt some driver would get in the car pull away and potentially ruin a hose.
