Wheelwell noise on 99 corolla

The passenger side wheel on my 99 corolla started to make a loud noise today when I’m braking. When I apply the brake at first there is no noise, but as the car comes to a complete stop the wheel makes a loud sound that also vibrates the car frame.

Any idea what this might be?

Does the steering wheel shake at the same time?

You MAY have either a bad rotor or a worn wheel bearing.

That sounds like a worn wheel bearing. I had a problem similar to that on my ford focus, and it turned out to be a wheel bearing.

This could also be the ABS system activating improperly.

Does the car have ABS?
Are you familiar with the sound and the vibration that take place when the ABS activates?
