I’m having trouble starting my car. 3 times now I’ve gotten my car running, driven a short distance (5-10 minutes max), stopped my car and gotten out. After a short time (5 minutes max), when I try to start my car again, It won’t start. The lights on the dash and radio turn on but the engine doesn’t start or even make a sound. If I wait about 10 minutes, the car starts.
Each time this happens it’s the same story. Also, each time it has been 30 degrees or below so I can’t help but think the temperature has something to do with the problem. Thanks.
The next time this happens, turn the ignition switch to the run position so the dash lights come on. Step on the brake pedal and shift the transmission into neutral and then try starting the engine. If the engine starts the problem is with the park/neutral safety switch.
Tester
