Many of us will be traveling this Memorial Day I hope you all have a good time. Remember if you see a Service Member while you are traveling, thank them for the work they are doing.
No matter what you think of the political issues, remember our military people don’t make the political decisions, they just do the work and risk their lives. For that if nothing else they deserve our respect and thanks.
Try to make it a habit to at least once a month, try and find a military member an to thank them.
Memorial Day was established to honor those who have been required to provide the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their nation. We should never forget that.
To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans "To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to “Taps.”
I would encourage the Car Talk community to take time out of our busy lives to pause and take a moment out for rememberance and respect tomorrow. It is a small way to repay our fallen heroes.
AMEN
I concur!!! Actually when I meet a vet I normally thank them for protecting our country, from WWII up to our current conflict. ( please be aware that our Korean war vets feel totally forgotten so please remember them also. WWII vets came home to ticker tape parades and the Vietnam vets came home to protests, our Korean war vets state they simply came home and were thus forgotten ).
