Why wont my Key turn on my Jeep Grand Cherokee 1999? the steering wheel turns . But the Key wont its my wife’s Vehicle and I am already in the dog house for picking this Jeep for her. Please Help
So lets try the cheap fixes first. Have you tried wiggling the gear shift to make sure it’s in park? Sometimes it turns out the car isn’t actually in park and thus you can’t turn the key. Have you tried another key? Sometimes keys just wear out. I would seriously consider this one and try it.
Alternatively, the ignition could just be going and needs to be replaced. It’ll cost some money, but it shouldn’t cost too much (under $200).
