I have a 1997 Honda Civic LX. SRS (air-bag) light is on. Is there a DIY way to overcome the problem.
You might consider checking the SRS fuse. If that is good, I think you pretty much have to take it in.
The light indicates a fault in the SRS. Your airbags are non-operational now. There is no way for a DIY’er to diagnose the problem (you need a special scanner to check diagnostics). Your choice is to throw away the warning light and drive as-is forever or to visit a shop for necessary repairs.
