My car has been to the shop twice in the last six months and the mechanic has notified me on both occasions that a squirrel is getting the wiring under my car. I do not have a garage to store my vehicle in. How can I stop them?
Perhaps your state’s Department of Agriculture office’s rhodent control experts would have a suggestion.
- Use rat poison
- Use a glue board near the wires
- Use traps in the yard
- Chain your dog to the car
- Coat wire with petroleum jelly
Squirrels are relentless. They will not stop on their own.
Get a friend’s dog to mark your car every couple of weeks. Does wonders keeping rodents away.
