I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder v6. Over the last several months I’ve noticed an intermittent squeak noise when I’m starting the car. It doesn’t happen each time, but when it does, it’s loud and lasts about a quarter second. It’s like a loud TEE OOO EEET !!

Just a bit more info: car has 78k miles on it. Screeching noise is only when car is started, not any other time. It can happen in mild or cold weather. Also, when I hear this noise, the engine RPM immediately after the screech seems higher than when it does not screech after a start. The noise can happen with a cold or warm engine. Any help is appreciated!
its your fan belt… you have one univeral belt around the front of your engine correct? replace that, and take a good look at it, Im sure it is prolly cracked a good deal on the inside.
