I have a 2006 Pontiac GTO. Everywhere I drive I hear a squeaking noice, like a hamster in a wheel. It makes the noice all the time now, the only time it doesn’t squeak is when i push on the brakes. I had the brake pads checked and they are good. I think the calipers are sticking or the brake pads are some how touching, but don’t know. I still have factory warranty for another month and want to take care of this before it runs out.
You have given us a classic description of the noise brake pad wear indicators make when the pads are due for replacement.
I’d get a second opinion about how “good” the pads are.
