Whenever we have wet weather during the winter, the sliding doors freeze on my 04 Toyota Sienna. I naturally don’t know this until I’ve tried opening them. Then they open just enough to trigger the warning buzzer and interior lights, which I have to drive with until the car warms up and the doors unfreeze. What can I do to keep the doors from freezing in wet weather?
Spray silicone on the rubber gasket around the door opening. Keep the gasket lubed with silicone and it won’t be as prone to freezing.
TRY THIS IF THERE IS A RUBBER GASKET SEAL. WIPE DRY THE SEAL ALL THE WAY AROUND. PUT SOME VEGETABLE OIL ON A RAG AND APPLY LIGHTLY TO THE RUBBER GASKET SEAL.
