Problem:Unable to shift out of parking after pressing on brake pedal.How can I verify that the problem comes from either the brake pedal interlock switch ($40) or the shift lock solenoid (Shifter assy.$400)?

Check your owner’s manual. There is probably an way to override the brake pedal interlock.
Do that, and if you can now shift out of park then you know the problem is the brake interlock.

Thank you, I think I can go ahead and change the brake interlock myself.
