SAAB (Noun and verb!)

I have heard that the fuel pump can be accessed under the rear passenger seat in a 2005 SAAB 9-3 Arc. Can anyone confirm this? I have been looking everywhere for it, but cannot confirm.

I have to change the fuel pump and or fuel gauge sensor which is a common problem for these.

PS- I don’t want to cut out the carpet or sheetmetal under the seat or in the trunk.

try this web site… http://www.fixya.com/cars/p699568-saab_2003_9_3

Thanks but they don’t have the 2005. I have found all the information for the 2003, and 2007 but NOT for the 2005. The '07 says you can access it under the seat, the '03 says drop the tank down.

Saab 9-3 model changes were at 2003 and 2007, so the 2003 info should apply. But I don’t know that for a fact.

Does anyone know if the basic set-up on the 2003 Saab 9-3 was the same as the 2005 Saab 9-3? Thanks for your help.

Normally major changes are not made during a model run (2003-2006, in this case). So the 2003 should be very similar to the 2005. You might call a Saab dealer’s service department, or post this on a Saab discussion forum.

in my 99, the tank had to be droped to access it as it sits inside the tank

Yes it can be accessed if you know Saab repair you can convert your saab fuel pump to another position if you dont want that position on your rear passenger seat.
