I’m having trouble installing a replacement telescoping antenna on my '99 9.3. Successfully removed the damaged mast but can’t seem to get the new “sprocket cord” to engage and seat the new mast.
The sprocket cord should have come with the new antenna mast. Are you sure you asked for a power antenna mast?

Electric antenna? Possibly a piece of the cord is broken off inside the housing.
Yes; to the best of my knowledge, this year and model was produced exclusively with a motor-driven power antenna. I’m satisfied that the entirety of the sprocket cord came out with the old antenna; based on side-by-side measurement of the old and new at full extension. I’m all set now; thanks; the 17th try having successfully engaged the sprocket cord with the driven drum.
