I am replacing the stock rear view mirror in my Audi A3 with a Gentex auto-dim, compass mirror. What’s the best and safest way to remove the existing mirror mount from the windshield? Thanks for anyone’s advice.
If it is attached to the winshield, then there is a small Allen-head set screw on the bottom of the mount that holds the rear-view mirror to a glued on anchor. DON’T TRY TO SIMPLY PRY THE MIRROR OFF! You could, and most likely will crack the glass.
