Remove this stud

How do I remove this stud since it has a flat on end. I tried double nutting it but that did not work. I need a matching socket. Is there such a thing?
It’s new. It’s not a rust issue. It’s a turn it in a very tight spot.

Perhaps a shock absorber socket.

That’s the idea.

I got it. Double nutted it very tight.

I got one of those universal sockets as a gift. The kind with a bunch of needles in it to conform to anything. Never used it. I would have tried that now that I found it. But of course always the proper socket if you can find it and wait for delivery

I bought one recently. They’re cheap enough, so why not? Haven’t used it yet. But I’d imagine often having trouble getting it into tight spaces. And the one I got maxes out at 3/4" or so. But I’m sure it’ll save my a** one day tho.

I have and use a small crescent wrench for some odd ball stuff like that, sorry don’t remember if SAE or metric though…

Funny. Website says GM socket is too small to be used on manifold studs. But it works on shocks.

That would be my first technique too. If access was no problem I might start with an open end or adjustable wrench, or a pipe wrench. Of course if there’s a perfectly sized socket available , that’s the best way to go. I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those sockets before. I plan to replace all four of my truck’s shocks this winter, so I may be seeing one of those sockets soon … lol …

The socket I found was A430 or something like that. It does not mention size in ad. And then comments from users that it was the right shape but was too small/big.
