ok on my 1997 t-bird, the doorlocks dont work right.My driverside switch will only unlock both doors, not lock. The passenger side will not do anything. i replaced both switches and they both have power going to them (switches light up at night)The car does not have keyless entry. What could the problem be?
There could be any number of reasons that the door locks do not operate properly including wiring, bad connections and binding of the actuators. I would suggest a competent independent mechanic who has experience in power door locks and power windows. The last time I worked on power door locks I discovered broken wires (both locks and windows) at the door hinge location. They worked fine with the doors open but were inoperative when the doors were closed.
